He started cereal today... He's been fussy at night for a few weeks and we've been pulling our
hair out trying to figure out why. Susan, genius that she is, finally figured it out - he was just
hungry! Last night, she fed him his normal feeding and he seemed full; he wasn't asking for more
food and seemed fine. As a test, she decided to see if he would take any formula - he took
four more ounces! And, thankfully, he slept almost the whole night... So, our boy starts
cereal today - and his parents get to sleep better at night.

This kid is SOOOO smart! :) Of course, we wouldn't be proper parents if we didn't
believe our child was special, would we??? Here's why we think he's a
smartie (a little background first):
- Scott has been singing the Alphabet Song ("... Now I know my ABCs...")
to him every day as Seth's lullaby so he hears the song at least ten times
a day
- Susan also sings it to him as a lullaby. He has others we sing him but
the Alphabet Song is his "preferred" song to calm him down.
Well, today he started humming along - IN TIME! He was keeping near perfect time -
it was amazing! We've been very concious to tap the beat on him when we sing or
listen to music too. When he first did it, Susan and I looked at each other in
amazement - he did it for ten full seconds. Then, a few minutes later, he did
it again. Now its become a regular "thing" for him! He laughs and hums along. I tried
to record it today but I didn't get the recorder set up before he went to sleep with
me singing; I'll do it sometime this week though and put it on the web.
I guess this runs in the family - Susan said that her oldest sister, Amy,
was able to hum "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (the ABC song) when she was
TWO MONTHS OLD!!! Wow!
And oops! I don't know how I did it but I forgot to mention that Seth can't
*wait* for Susan's mother Linda (Doe-Doe) to come out
this weekend! I had a little birdie tell me that I'd forgotten
(in my inbox, in all caps lol). |

So who knows who he looks like now lol - he certainly doesn't look like
Susan or me! He's changed his "looks" twice now - so much so that people
can immediately see that he's changed when they look at him. Our friend Lisa
came over yesterday and the first thing she said was how he no longer looked
like Scott... Oh - and he's all excited his cousin Austin is coming over next
month along with Susan's father Larry. We're all excited :)

He's going through a growth spurt now; it's unreal how much he's grown!! He's
in a size three diaper already - and he's only eleven weeks old! They only
have six sizes (I think); that must mean he's halfway grown up.
He's not "Size Ben" but he's a big boy.
His new "thing" is looking at the ground - if you take him outside, you'd
better let him look down!! He wants to see the grass... I took some pictures
of him watching the pool bals roll on the table that are cute.
I just have to say this is the greatest thing ever. I laugh more now than I've ever laughed
in my life! He's just the funniest thing ever; I can't imagine anything better.

He's so infatuated with the ceiling fan! He knows where every ceiling fan in the house is and he laughs
and coos whenever he sees one lol. It's just so darn funny...

|
He loves the ceiling fan now - no matter where we go, if there's a ceiling fan, he finds it and
starts laughing and cooing. He's so funny... And he doesn't look *anything* like me at all anymore!
He is all Susan's family now lol. He looks soooo much like Oliver and Austin did when they were little
babies - I'm going to put up some pics of Oliver just to show you; you won't believe it!
